2007 -2008 Adult Leadership Program
Brenda JoseShe is the Lifestyle Island Host for Kukui’ula Development Company (Hawai`i) LLC. She hails from Kekaha, where she’s lived most of her life. She is active with baseball organizations, football associations, the Kamanawa Foundation and Excel! Dance Studio.
Celia MahikoaIs an accountant for the Kaua`i County Transportation Agency. Has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. She has lived on Kauai for 35 years, and she likes to garden.
Chris RyerGeneral Manager, Kaua’i Backcountry Adventures. He has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology from Salisbury University. Chris has lived here for five years. He is a past participant in American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Kaua’i Businessman’s Canoe Race.
Milo HaneburgOperations Manager for Kaua’i Backcountry Adventures. He resides in Anahola and has lived here for 17 years. He is involved in Kapa’a High School Girls Volleyball among many other extracurricular activities. He also enjoys body surfing, playing basketball and spending time with his family.
Fred Pascual
Distribution Planning Supervisor, Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative. He holds two Associates Degrees, one in Liberal Arts and one in Architectural Drafting. He resides on the Southside of the island. Fred is active in youth sports, enjoys ocean activities and traveling.
Ginger Bray
Lead Cook, Regency at Puakea. She has a certificate of Achievement in Culinary Arts ServSafe Food Manager Certification. She has lived in Kapahi for 24 years. She is a part of Community Volunteers in the Classroom and the Kaua’i Visayan Club. She likes to dance, fish and travel.
Ken Shimonishi
Accounting Manager for Princeville Operating Company, LLC. He has an Associate degree in Accounting. He is a lifetime resident of Kaua’i. Ken participates in company community projects like the Kilauea Park and Hanalei Beach Clean-up. He enjoys playing golf and home improvement projects.
Jan NessenA Spiritual Health Educator in her own practice. Also on the Membership Committee of the Kaua’i Health and Wellness Association. She holds a BS in Education, Master of Pastoral Studies. She is also a Reiki Master and Chaplain. She has lived on Kaua’i for a year and a half.
Nely Caberto Acting Principal, Waimea High School. Nely has a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and P.E. and a Master’s of Education degree in Administration. She was born and raised on the Westside of Kaua’i. Her hobbies include fishing, camping and reading.
Vonn RamosClinical Supervisor, Teen CARE program, Hina Mauka. Vonn has his Bachelor’s Degree in Family Resources and Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He was born and raised on Kaua’i. He is the current President of the East Kaua’i Lions Club. He enjoys singing, swimming and volunteer work.
Linda UyeharaVice Principal, Waimea Canyon Middle School. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Education from Central Washington University and is working on her Master’s Degree in Education Administration. She has lived on Kaua’i for 14 years. She is involved in youth sports.
Ron MorinManager for Senter Petroleum. He has lived on Kaua’i for 15 years. Ron belongs to the Rotary Club of Lihu’e and is active with the Kaua’i Humane Society. He enjoys handball, photography, biking and hiking.
Shannon LaddDirector of Human Resources for Sheraton Kauai Poipu. She has a BS in Business with a minor in Resort Management from Colorado State University. Shannon has lived here for eight years. She has been involved in the hotel's projects such as the Visitor Industry Charity Walk and Koloa Plantation Days.
Steven Handy
Kauai Island Utility Cooperative Engineer. Holds both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering. Has lived on Kauai for 2 years. He is involved in the Church of Latter Day Saints youth groups and Boy Scouts. He enjoys spending time with his family as well as working on cars.
Steve Murphy
Director of Golf at the Princeville Golf Course. He has been to PGM Golf Management (PGA) School as well as 2 years at LAVC Los Angeles. He has lived on Kaua’i for 16 years. He enjoys golfing (of course), surfing, skiing and fishing. He is married and has two daughters.
Kerith Edwards
High School English teacher at Island School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in French Language and Translation and a Master’s Degree in Comparative World Literature. She has lived on the beautiful Eastside of Kaua’i for 3 years. She enjoys swimming, and writing, and is on the Junior Restoration Team.
Leland Tottori
Communications/Information Technology Officer for the Pacific Missile Range Facility. BS Civil Engineering from the University of Hawai’i and Masters Certificate for Project Management from George Washington University. He has lived on Kaua’i for 24 years. Belongs to Rotary Club of West Kaua’i and has coached various youth sports.
Ivory McClintock A Kauai Community College student finishing her AA degree in Liberal Arts. She has lived on Kauai all her life. She is a volunteer for NOAA Hawaiian Monk Seal hui. She loves to bodyboard, dance Tahitian, and play the guitar. She is bi-lingual, speaking English and Spanish.

1. Dale Cua. Planner for the County of Kauai, Planning Department for 12 years. Dale is married and has resided on Kauai for 14 years in Kalaheo. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
2. Diane Ayre. She is a Vice-Principal at Kapa’a High School. Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Library Science. She has lived on Kaua’i for 18 years. Diane is involved in many community and professional groups including Delta Kappa Gama, and Garden Island Canoe Racing Association

Adel Cardoso
Adele is a National Honor Society member attending Island school. She has participated in the production “Unwrapped.” Adele has volunteered with the Junior Restoration Team from the National Tropical Botanical Garden.
Alanna LindJunior attending Kauai High School. Captain of Kauai High School paddling team, Alanna has consistently made the Principal’s list each year. She enjoys surfing and all water sports.
Angela Mones
Attends Kapaa High School. Angela was nominated for Miss Outstanding Teenager of Hawaii 2007. She participates in the Interact Club, Dances with Halau Hula O Leilani, served on student government and enjoys volunteering for the Kapaa United Church of Christ as a youth group leader.
Caira SakahashiCaira is a Junior at Waimea High School. She participates in volleyball, soccer and Japanese Club. She is active and committed to Seminary.
Chanelle AjimuraChanelle is a Junior at Waimea High School where she is active with Bible club. She has been awarded an academic achievement certificate and honor roll. Chanelle helps with the family business and volunteers with Jog-A-Thon .
Christine Brauel
Junior attending Kapa`a High School. Participates in cross country and Paddling. She is an Honor roll student and is active with the Interact Club. Her community involvement includes beach and highway clean up events.
Chuck Finlay A Junior attending Kaua`i High School. Chuck is a world traveler who enjoys surfing, diving and sailing. He is active on the cross-country team and the County Jr. Life Guard program.
Guy MillerA Junior attending Kauai High School. Guy was a finalist at the Intel International Science Fair in May 2007. Guy has also been active in the County Junior Lifeguard program. He enjoys surfing, and is an avid recycler.
Jaimie EsakiKapa`a High Junior. Jamie is a member of Interact Club, Japanese Club, Aikido and Paddling. She is an honor roll student and a two time state science fair participant.
Juli Blachowiak A Junior attending Island School. Juli is active in J.U.M.P (Juveniles Use Media Power) to change the world . She is a KIF All Star tennis player and has been honored in music, choir, and drama.
Katy TalviIsland School Junior. Katy enjoys acting, singing and writing. She is active with HCT, WIT theatre productions. Katy participates in student government and has served as publicity manager and Treasurer.
Kayla Brun
Kayla is a principal’s list student attending Kauai High School. She serves as Junior Class KDSC representative, Key Club and volunteers her time with many community organizations. Kayla has been recognized for her interest in hula and photography.
Kirsten McCracken
Kapa`a High School Junior. Kirsten is active with roller hockey, cross country, track, soccer, tennis, Rohotu Dance Co., Interact club, Key club, and Japanese club. She has also participated in the Charity walk, and as a volunteer at Mahelona Hospital.
Megan MendozaA Junior attending Kapaa High school. Megan participates in volleyball, and paddling and serves as President of Miamaid class and Secretary of Sunday school.
Sierra BlackfordJunior attending Kapa`a High School. Sierra participates in track, paddling, cross Country and the Junior Life guard program. She is active in chorus and passionate about surfing.
Sydney Yamase
A Junior from Waimea High School Sydney is a volunteer at the Kauai Humane Society and has helped with phone book deliveries as a cheerleader. An honor roll achiever and participant of Lead America, Sydney has been a part of a school safety project called “Remember Me.”
Tori Yatogo An honor roll student attending Kapaa High School. Tori plays volleyball and tennis. She is also a participant in Interact Club and the About Face program.
Tiffany Eliana A Junion at Kauai High School. Tiffany is manager of the school football team. She has participated in Peer education and enjoys racquetball where she has won 1st place in Junion Doubles and Women's Novice Singles at the 2007 Garden island Classic. |
