 Pi`ina Hoku Youth Leadership Program
Pi`ina Hoku is Youth Leadership Program for High School juniors on Kauai designed to prepare and develop strengths for a future of endless possibilities! Participants will develop youth leadership skills, learn more about themselves and how to work and serve in our communities collaboratively … they will most certainly have fun in the process! Pi`ina Hoku starts with an exciting retreat in Koke`e! Each month for one day, instead of attending school, participants will join their peers in various locations on the island for a dynamic day designed to provide teens opportunities for personal growth. Pi`ina Hoku is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
 Throughout our Pi`ina Hoku Program, we will recognize and respect the values of our Hawaiian culture and the Aloha Spirit; encourage openness; and have fun while learning. We will incorporate a variety of learning methods, including presenters, panel discussions, videos, role-playing and skill practice sessions. The program sessions will use large and small group discussions, field experiences, workshops, simulations and individual work. Including the opening and closing events, each session is focused around specific topics that will:
I. EMPOWER potential community leaders
II. DEVELOP young leaders with an awareness of and sensitivity to Kaua`i’s culture and people
III. EDUCATE young leaders who will succeed in our unique environment and within our global economy
IV. MOTIVATE young leaders to effectively address community needs and improve our quality of life
V. ESTABLISH, replenish and expand the ranks of Kaua`i’s leaders

Leadership Kauai is seeking a diverse group of students with a variety of backgrounds, interests and grade point averages to be part of up of its annual Pi`ina Hoku Youth Leadership program on Kaua`i. Participants of Pi`ina Hoku get to:
