The Ka Ulu Pono Career Awareness Conference scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Kaua`i Marriott Resort & Beach Club, is an event to showcase eight in-school programs (referenced below) who have invested their time in providing students with education and experience that will lead them to viable careers on Kaua`i.
Exhibit booths featuring Kaua`i businesses who serve as leaders in the industries of renewable energy, high technology, food & agriculture, sports & recreation, arts & culture, health & wellness will be on hand to share information about their companies and potential careers in their industry field. This program is in partnership with the County of Kaua`i, Office of Economic Development and Kaua`i Workforce Investment Board.
Each in-school project was awarded $5,600 to utilize for equipment, text, materials, services and supplies to enhance their program.
