Our Alumni

What do our graduates have to say?

Picture
“As a graduate of Leadership Kaua'i, I highly recommend their program.”
- Mayor Bernard Carvalho
LK 2005
"I started my current position shortly after graduating LK. I probably would not have considered applying for it without having just participated in the LK program. It helped to refresh my passion for challenge and seizing new opportunities. The sense of accountability is heightened when you have a network of other professionals that you stay connected with. It helps to have feedback and ask for support or assistance during the tough times. Since LK, we’ve opened the Women’s Center which will enable the agency to serve the community to a greater capacity for generations to come. LK also helped anchor my commitment to do all I can to make Kaua`i a better place for everyone who lives or visits the island. The Hawaiian values that were such a big part of the leadership program brought a tremendous richness to the more western ideas of successful leadership. I would recommend the program for self- reflection, assessment and overall personal growth and development. " - Renaé Hamilton, LK 2007
"LK helped me In building relationship with people that are doing important work in the community. It's a local Kauai organization that brings together a group of individuals that probably wouldn't meet otherwise. It's a cross section of many different strong personalities of various areas. You don't only learn how to become a better leader yourself, but you also get to connect and compare notes with other leaders of the island, thus experiencing their styles and learn from the best." - Keoni Kealoha, LK 2007
"I didn’t know it at the time that I signed up for Leadership Kauai but, Leadership Kauai has been the best way for me to learn how to demystify thoughts about leadership and cultural barriers that come with it here on Kaua’i. It was amazing to unravel the science behind being an effective leader. The best part of it all was that the learning was in real time, incorporating Kaua’i needs and bringing together Kaua’i people from many different sectors of life." - Addison Buloson, LK 2015
